Abu Dhabi Airport Logistics Park welcomes new tenants in first phase
Skycity, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) which is responsible for developing and operating the Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone, has welcomed the first group of customers including a variety of local, regional and international companies to the first phase of the Abu Dhabi Airport Logistics Park.
These companies will enjoy a wide range of Free Zone services such as company registration, licensing, leasing and rapid visa processing for employees in a ‘one-stop-shop’ environment. Some of the other benefits include duties and tax exemptions, foreign ownership, repatriation of capital and profits, and other benefits traditionally offered at any Free Zone setup.
The first phase presently houses around 100 warehouses and can accommodate a vast range of businesses that includes: aviation, logistics, freight, IT, electronics, light industries and cold storage. The first batch of customers receiving their keys include companies such as Expo Freight Services Company LLC, 3W Networks LLC, and International Precious Metal Refiners which have started their fit-out works and aim to be fully operational by March.
The second phase of the park, which is currently still under development and planning, will be larger than the first. It is being specifically commissioned to offer storage, warehousing and light industrial units along with plots of land for development. The second phase is expected to form a business community that shares similar needs and requirements. The logistics park is among the first in a series of commercial districts that is planned in close proximity to the airport, wherein each and every district offers a variety of products, services and amenities, catering to the targeted business segments and activities.
